Art journaling has many definitions. To me, the act of keeping an art journal is a gift I give myself. I give myself permission to use those “special” art supplies I’d been hoarding for “something special”. Well, I am something special, and so are you.
It is a place where I can confess all of my innermost feelings, that I wouldn’t voice to anyone. I do this both through words and images. Some things are too hard to write down, but in my art journal I can create a page that gives me that cathartic release.
It is a place where I can work through decisions. Make plans. Dream. Create. Reminisce. Be myself, in a way that is not possible outside of my journal.
Give yourself a gift. You deserve it. Join me to explore the practice of keeping an art journal.
